1. “ACS Professional Year Program – additional points
for IT graduates”
When: 12:40pm & 2:40pm on 12th September
Where: Melbourne Town Hall (IDP International Student
Exhibition)
Swinburne's Professional Year Program will enhance students
existing IT qualifications and develop professional skills enabling
students to develop their career in the ICT industry. ICT
internships and program coursework will be covered with an overview
of some of the IT organisations students should expect to undertake
project work with.
“Completion of a recognised Professional Year will provide that
person 10 bonus points under the General Skilled Migration points
test “

2. “How to get an extra 15 points by studying with Charles
Darwin University”
When: 12pm & 2pm on 12th September
Where: Melbourne Town Hall (IDP International Student
Exhibition)
The presentation will outline the opportunities for study at
CDU, the benefits of studying and living in Darwin, the part time
work opportunities, and the enhanced career and migration
opportunities through a buoyant NT economy and a small NT
population.
“Successful completion of a degree, diploma or trade certificate
through two years study in CDU while resident in the Northern
Territory will make international students eligible for the 5 bonus
points for studying in a regional university. Northern Territory
Government sponsorship gives students an additional 10 points
towards their General Skilled Migration points test, making a total
of 15 bonus points”

3 “Skilled Migration Internship Program for Accountants
(SMIPA)”
When: 1:20 pm & 3:20pm on 12th September
Where: Melbourne Town Hall (IDP International Student
Exhibition)
The seminar will focus on the Skilled Migration Internship
Program for Accountants (SMIPA), the new professional year program
is a 44 week program approved by the Department of Immigration and
Citizenship (DIAC). It is available to overseas students who have
obtained an Australian accounting qualification as a result of at
least two years study in Australia. The SMIPA program has been
co-developed by the Institute, CPA Australia and National Institute
of Accountants and is delivered by Monash Professional.
