How IDP can Help You – the step-by-step process to Studying in Australia

1) Counselling

On study opportunities in Australia – Walk in for Personal Counselling Sessions with our experienced IDP counsellors who are all Australian-educated graduates. We will help you to choose your course in accordance with your needs.

Your counselling can include:

• Briefing on the Australian Education System
• Prospectuses and links to Institutions’ Websites
• A Careers Counselling testing
• The Accreditation of Australian degrees
• Our take on Student life in Australia
• Reminders of our Forthcoming Activities
• The range of Exams that IDP offers if required
• Online Programs available
• And FAQs in general

2) Application Processing

Application forms are available at IDP. We will certify your academic records and forward to the institutions (please bring original qualifications/transcripts for certification). Application Fees may be charged by some institutions.

3) Response from Institution(s)

Expect responses from institutions within 2 to 6 weeks. IDP will mail you any letters of offer. If you are unsuccessful, please approach IDP for enhanced counselling sessions.

4) Acceptance of Offer & Issue of e-CoE

Accept an offer at our IDP office by paying a deposit (usually 1 semester's tuition fee + Overseas Student Health Cover + other fees). Your bank draft should be made payable to the institution – and will be couriered via IDP. * Note: Applicants from certain countries will be required to apply for a Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) to be approved before they can accept their offer.

An electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (e-CoE) will be approved in 1-2 weeks. You then use the approved e-CoE to apply for a student visa.

5) Visa Application, Accommodation & Flight Booking

IDP will assist you with your Visa Application according to your nationality, age (under-18) or visa category. Visa application fees will apply.

IDP will advise on your accommodation options – usually available on your institution’s website. Do apply early for a better chance of securing on-campus accommodation. For our Flight Booking services, please complete a flight booking form with us.

6) Arrival Reception

For airport reception, please Contact our counsellors with your finalised flight details. Or notify your institution directly if applicable.

7) Predeparture Preparation

IDP also runs Predeparture Talks to prepare students for their arrival in Australia. The talks include: Valuable informational tips and the opportunity to meet up with fellow prospective students. All outgoing students will be notified of the talks.

8) Departure for Australia
